The Liberty Flames have added the VMI Keydets to their 2028 soccer schedule, FBSchedules.com has discovered.
Liberty will host VMI at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Va., on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2028. The Flames can pay the Keydets a $450,000 assure for the competition, in response to a replica of the soccer recreation contract obtained from Virginia Army Institute through a state of Virginia Freedom of Data Act request.
Liberty and VMI first met through the 1995 season and have performed a complete of 13 contests. Of their most up-to-date matchup in Lynchburg in 2013, the Flames defeated the Keydets 17-7 to increase their benefit within the total sequence to 10-3.
VMI is a member of the Southern Convention (SoCon) within the Soccer Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Keydets even have future recreation scheduled in opposition to Georgia Tech in 2024, Navy in 2025, Virginia Tech in 2026, West Virginia in 2027, and Louisville in 2029.
Liberty has tentatively accomplished its non-conference schedule in 2028, though their schedules have been in a state of flux since shifting to Convention USA. The Flames are presently scheduled to open the season on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Sept. 2 and can later go to the Bowling Inexperienced Falcons on Sept. 23 and host the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Oct. 14.
