The VMI Keydets and Georgetown Hoyas have scheduled a home-and-home soccer sequence for the 2030 and 2031 seasons, FBSchedules.com has discovered.
A duplicate of the athletic settlement with Georgetown College was obtained from the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics of the Virginia Army Institute through a state Freedom of Data Act request. The contract was executed on August 24, 2023.
The sequence will open with VMI internet hosting Georgetown at Alumni Memorial Area in Lexington, Va., on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2030. The Keydets will return the sport towards the Hoyas after they journey to Cooper Area in Washington, D.C., the next season on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2031, which can wrap up the two-game sequence.
VMI and Georgetown first met on the gridiron in 1898 and the 2 groups have performed a complete of seven contests. The Hoyas defeated the Keydets 21-0 of their final assembly in 2004 in Washington, D.C., which prolonged their lead within the total sequence to 6-1.
VMI competes within the Southern Convention (SoCon), whereas Georgetown performs within the Patriot League, each within the Soccer Championship Subdivision (FCS).
Final week, we reported that the VMI Keydets will journey to tackle the Liberty Flames on Sept. 9, 2028. The Keydets will obtain a $450,000 assure for the competition, per the copy of the contract.
